Disneyland is often marketed as a place for children to enjoy a touch of fantasy land and surround themselves with cartoon characters. A place where those wearing mouse ears are in the majority and princesses wait on every corner to charm and welcome you.

As an adult visiting Disneyland in Anaheim for the first time in 2010, I can say that it is also a place where adults can enjoy themselves too. It, quite literally, has something for everyone, from fast theme park rides to educational exhibits, cartoon characters and parades, dinosaurs, bears, mice, spacemen, princesses, fairies – and when I was there, Father Christmas, Mrs Christmas, the reindeer and their elves, ably assisted by the Seven Dwarves as well.

New Visitors Encouraged to Leave their Worries at the Gate

When visitors buy their Disney® tickets at the bank of booths they are asked if they have visited the park before. If not, they are given an over-size badge saying ‘First Time’ and encouraged to display it prominently.
