In 2008, Canadians bought US$129.1 million worth of imported whiskey (spelled whisky in Canada and Britain). That amount represents a 4% gain from the $123.4 million consumed in 2007.

Unless sales pick up dramatically in the last three months of the year, revenues from imported whiskies will experience a double-digit percentage decline in 2009.
